UNDERSTANDING THE COMMON CORE STANDARDS

pbis.jpg

Is it safe? Is it courteous? Is it responsible? Would it be fair if everyone did it?

For the first few weeks of school, we will be focusing on our universal school expectations for the classroom, computer lab, multipurpose room, and pick up/drop off procedures.

In addition, our behavior standard is "Getting the Teacher's Attention."

News

9/17/17

*Today I sent home a classroom progress report.  Please read, sign and return the paper.  Keep graded papers home.*

Yes, it is true.  When the Steelers win on Sunday, students do not have to do their Spelling homework sheet.  They can still study words at your discretion.

*The My Words section on your child's Monday HW note sheet are the words from previous weeks they need to practice.  There will be a graded Unit Spelling test after Week 5 in Wonders.  We are starting Week 3 today.

*Please check your child's homework so they are not practicing skills incorrectly.  Wednesday's grammar/vocabulary review sheet is a great way for them to prepare for their weekly test.

**Included with papers is your child's first reading response. This grade was not recorded.  This is just to give you and your child an idea of the scoring.  The students had to compare how lessons were learned in two similar stories. This will be a regular class assignment. I will put a copy of the rubric in the binder.
